CVE-2022-27674

Windows kernel crash via unchecked IOCTL buffer

Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025

Improper input validation in AMD uProf before 3.6.839 for Windows allows attackers to crash the kernel via malformed IOCTL data. The IOCTL input/output buffer handler processes attacker-controlled data without enforcing bounds checks. AMD has not disclosed the access conditions for the handler; exploitation interrupts the host without altering or disclosing data.
