Remote administration via 0.0.0.0 loopback bypass
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect authorization in affected SAProuter and Kernel releases allows remote attackers to execute administration commands through a route request. SAProuter accepts an NI_ROUTE tunnel to 0.0.0.0:3299 as a route to its local administration service, bypassing the normal loopback restriction. Exposure requires network access and a saprouttab entry permitting the source to reach wildcard targets on port 3299; resulting commands can stop SAProuter, terminate connections, change tracing, or display connection data.
