Client-side code execution via AngularJS template injection
Published Apr 3, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Reflected XSS in Progress Ipswitch WS_FTP Server 8.6.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a user's browser. The ThinClient/WtmApiService.asmx/GetFileSubTree endpoint embeds attacker-controlled subFolderPath input in an AngularJS template, enabling a sandbox-escape expression. Exploitation requires user interaction with a crafted request, subdirectory search, or folder name and exposes browser-accessible data and actions in that session.
