Unauthenticated site-settings modification via unguarded POST
Published Aug 11, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Improper authentication in SourceCodester Company Website CMS 1.0 allows remote attackers to alter site settings through an unauthenticated POST. The /dashboard/settings handler processes multipart configuration fields and saves them even when the request carries no authenticated session. Network access to that endpoint is sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized modification of public-facing content, including the site title.
