CVE-2022-27648

Code execution via unchecked SCA2 buffer copy

Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 18, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in JTEKT Screen Creator 0.1.1.1 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via an SCA2 file. The SCA2 parser copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, after which code runs in the current process context.
