Stored XSS via unescaped Share Icons text
Published Oct 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Aakash Web WP Socializer before 7.3 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to run scripts in visitors' browsers. The Share Icons editor stores the unsanitized “Text to show next to icon” value and renders it in front-end posts without output escaping. An administrator must activate Share Icons and save a crafted icon setting; any user who views an affected post triggers the stored payload, including on multisite installations that disable unfiltered_html.
