CVE-2022-27623Network attack vector

Arbitrary file access via missing iSCSI authentication

Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025

Missing authentication in Synology DiskStation Manager before 7.1-42661 allows remote attackers to read or write arbitrary files via iSCSI management. The iSCSI management functionality accepts a critical file operation without authentication, but Synology has not disclosed the affected endpoint or request handling. No credentials or user interaction are required; successful exploitation exposes file confidentiality and integrity without a reported availability impact.
