Authenticated arbitrary-file read via webapi path traversal
Published Aug 3, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Path traversal in the webapi component of Synology SSO Server before 2.2.3-0331 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files. Synology has not disclosed the affected webapi endpoint or how attacker-controlled path input escapes its intended directory. A valid account with high privileges is required, and successful exploitation exposes file contents without modifying data or interrupting service.
