CVE-2022-27615Network attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary-file deletion via CGI path traversal

Published Jul 28, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Path traversal in Synology DNS Server before 2.2.2-5027 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files via its CGI component. The CGI component fails to constrain a supplied pathname to its intended directory, but Synology has not disclosed the endpoint, parameter, or filesystem operation. A valid low-privilege account and network reachability are required; successful requests remove attacker-selected files and can interrupt service.
