CVE-2022-27573Network attack vector

Privileged out-of-bounds write via unchecked parser input

Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 10 through 12 allows remote authenticated users to trigger an out-of-bounds write. The libsimba parser_infe and sheifd_find_itemIndexin functions process input without adequate validation before performing the memory write; Samsung has not disclosed the exact malformed field or data path. Administrative privileges and network reachability are required, and consequences beyond the memory write are not publicly documented.
