CVE-2022-27558Network attack vector

Weak password creation via unenforced custom policies

Published Aug 29, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Broken password checks in HCL iNotes 12.0.1 and 12.0.1FP1 allow remote authenticated users to set weak passwords through web forms. The affected Internet-password change forms accept a new password without applying the configured custom password policy. An account and enabled browser-based password changes are required; the resulting weak password is easier to crack, exposing that account.
