Administrator account creation via cross-site scripting
Published Mar 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Zero-channel BBS Plus v0.7.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The CGI bulletin board fails to neutralize attacker-controlled content before it is rendered in the management interface. A remote attacker must induce an administrator to view crafted content; script execution can create an administrator account, expose poster origin data, and alter, edit, or delete board content.
