CVE-2022-27495

Traffic-policy modification via unauthenticated control-plane endpoints

Published May 5, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Missing authentication in F5 NGINX Service Mesh 1.3.x allows remote attackers on the cluster overlay network to modify traffic policies. The control-plane API endpoints accept policy-changing requests from any workload on that network without authenticating the caller. Reachability requires access to the cluster overlay network; published impact is limited to traffic-policy integrity.
