CVE-2022-27457Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Server crash via stale row-buffer read

Published Apr 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in MariaDB Server 10.6.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the server through crafted SQL statements. During duplicate-key error formatting for a multi-table update, my_mb_wc_latin1 reads an InnoDB row buffer after its blob heap has been freed. The published proof of concept requires table creation and update permissions, and the demonstrated consequence is a server-process abort.
