Server crash via invalid alias resolution
Published Apr 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in MariaDB Server 10.6.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the server with a crafted SQL query. During WHERE and ON resolution, setup_conds incorrectly searches SELECT-list aliases, so a subquery with an outer reference in HAVING leaves my_wildcmp_8bit_impl using freed memory. A reachable SQL interface capable of executing the crafted query is required, and successful exploitation interrupts the database service.
