Administrator session theft via stored album markup
Published Apr 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in GalleryCMS 2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary JavaScript through a crafted album name. The album-creation endpoint stores the album_name POST value and later renders its active SVG markup in an administrator's browser. A common user account and subsequent administrator interaction are required; the demonstrated payload reads the administrator's session cookie.
