CVE-2022-27387Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Server crash via invalid decimal scale

Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Global buffer overflow in MariaDB Server 10.7.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the server via crafted SQL statements. Out-of-range decimal metadata can carry a scale greater than its precision into decimal_bin_size, violating the size routine's bounds assumptions. Network access to the SQL service is sufficient; successful triggering terminates the server process without reading or changing database data.
