CVE-2022-27380Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Server crash via inconsistent decimal subquery state

Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Denial of service in MariaDB Server 10.6.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the server with a crafted SQL statement. A table-less UNION subquery can return NULL while marked non-null, causing decimal ORDER BY processing to pass inconsistent state into my_decimal assignment. Network access to the SQL service is sufficient; no privileges or user interaction are required, and the impact is limited to service interruption.
