CVE-2022-2735Public exploit

Cluster takeover via permissive daemon socket

Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Privilege escalation in ClusterLabs PCS 0.10.5 through 0.10.14 and 0.11.0 through 0.11.3 allows local users to control a cluster. The Ruby pcsd daemon creates /var/run/pcsd-ruby.socket without a restrictive umask, allowing unprivileged processes to retrieve a hacluster authentication token. Local access to a cluster node is required; the stolen token authorizes administrative PCS actions across the managed cluster.
