JavaScript execution via unrestricted SVG logo upload
Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in MISP before 2.4.156 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through an SVG organization logo. The __uploadLogo method accepts the SVG filename extension and moves the uploaded file into the web-accessible organization-logo directory without rejecting active content. Exploitation requires a victim to view the stored logo; the script runs in that viewer's browser and can read or alter data available to that session.
