CVE-2022-27243Network attack vector

Local file disclosure via custom terms path

Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Local file inclusion in MISP before 2.4.156 allows attackers to read local files via the custom terms file setting. The app/View/Users/terms.ctp template concatenated the configured terms-file value directly into the application path, allowing path components to escape the intended directory; the fix canonicalizes the value and retains only its basename. Exploitation requires access to configure the custom terms file, and the demonstrated consequence is local-file disclosure.
