Local privilege escalation via path traversal

Path traversal in Intel NUC HDMI Firmware Update Tool before 1.79.1.1 allows local users to escalate privileges through crafted paths. Intel identifies the updater as the affected component but has not disclosed which path-processing operation accepts or resolves attacker-controlled input outside an intended directory. Reaching the flaw requires an authenticated local user and user interaction; successful abuse grants elevated privileges on the host.
