Root command injection via network tools
Published May 9, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2026
Command injection in Galleon NTS-6002-GPS firmware 4.14.103 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root through the web interface. The Ping, Traceroute, and DNS Lookup handlers pass the ping_address, trace_address, and nslookup_address fields to shell commands without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires valid web-management authentication; the supplier disputes production exposure and reports that affected components appeared only in development releases.
