CVE-2022-2721Network attack vector

Sensitive-data disclosure via plaintext discovery logging

Published Nov 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025

Sensitive-data exposure in affected Octopus Server releases allows remote attackers to read protected values through verbose target-discovery logs. During target discovery, the server writes certain values marked sensitive to log files as plaintext instead of preserving their masking. Exposure requires verbose logging and access to the resulting log files; it does not alter data or interrupt service.
