CVE-2022-27208Network attack vector

Authenticated file read via unrestricted kubeconfig path

Published Mar 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Arbitrary file read in Jenkins Kubernetes Continuous Deploy Plugin 2.3.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read controller files. The plugin's Kubernetes configuration credential accepts a "From a file on the Jenkins master" kubeconfig source and reads the supplied controller path without restricting it to an authorized location. Credentials/Create or Credentials/Update permission is required, and successful use discloses any controller file accessible to the Jenkins process.
