Stored XSS via unescaped role names
Published Mar 15, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Folder-based Authorization Strategy Plugin 1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The configuration form inserts global, folder, and agent role names into HTML attributes and inline JavaScript without safe data binding or escaping. Exploitation requires Overall/Administer permission and a later view of the form; injected script can act in the viewing administrator's browser.
