CVE-2022-27194Network attack vector

Unauthenticated service interruption via crafted port 8888 packets

Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper packet handling in Siemens TIA Administrator allows remote attackers to interrupt TIA Portal, SINETPLAN, and PCS neo systems. TIA Administrator cannot properly process specially crafted packets received on TCP port 8888; Siemens has not disclosed the parser operation or resource failure involved. No authentication or user action is required, but port 8888 is restricted to localhost by default, and successful exploitation requires a manual restart.
