Process crash via unchecked NULL image list
Published Aug 9, 2022 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Reachable assertion in ImageMagick before 7.1.0-30 allows context-dependent attackers to crash an image-processing process via a crafted file. In MagickWand/operation.c, CLINoImageOperator passes a cloned NULL image list to WriteImages without checking it. Exploitation requires the crafted file to be processed and terminates the process, without reported data disclosure or modification.
