CVE-2022-27180

Local privilege escalation

Published May 10, 2023 · Updated Jan 24, 2025

Uncontrolled search path in Intel MacCPUID Software before 3.2 allows local users to elevate privileges through local access. Intel identifies the mechanism only as an uncontrolled search path and does not disclose the affected executable, library, or path operation. Successful exploitation requires an authenticated local user, user interaction, and high-complexity conditions, and elevates that user's privileges.
