Application crash via freed scenegraph attribute read
Published Apr 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in GPAC MP4Box 1.1.0-DEV-rev1727-g8be34973d-master allows context-dependent attackers to crash it via a crafted file. During LASeR scene teardown, gf_svg_node_del frees node attributes before listener cleanup calls gf_node_get_attribute_by_tag, which reads the freed allocation. Processing the file with the -lsr option triggers an AddressSanitizer abort; only application interruption is demonstrated.
