Authenticated open redirect via Host header injection
Published Apr 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Open redirect in OrangeHRM 4.10 allows remote authenticated users to redirect browsers to an attacker-controlled domain via crafted Host headers. The viewPersonalDetails and validateCredentials endpoints copy the untrusted Host header into a 302 Location URL instead of constraining redirects to the application host. Login and form submission are required, and the bounded impact is phishing or indirect disclosure of trusted-link context rather than server-side code execution.
