Authenticated script execution via stored post title
Published Apr 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in AeroCMS 0.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser through a crafted post title. The add_post.php handler accepts and stores the Post Title payload without neutralizing executable HTML or script before it is rendered. Administrative privileges are required to create the post, and another user must view the stored title; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled script in that viewer's session.
