Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Apr 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in AeroCMS 0.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through the Admin Post Image function. The Post Image handler accepts a PHP file and stores it under the web-accessible /images/ path without rejecting its executable type. Administrator access is required; requesting the uploaded file executes attacker-supplied code in the web server context.
