Remote SQL injection via unsanitized id
Published Aug 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
SQL injection in SourceCodester Simple Student Information System allows remote attackers to manipulate database queries through the id parameter in admin/departments/manage_department.php. The handler concatenates the GET id value directly into a SELECT statement without filtering or parameterization, allowing UNION-based injection that can read database metadata and alter query results. The endpoint is remotely reachable and a public payload demonstrates the behavior; published CVSS assessments disagree on whether authentication is required.
