Database extraction via unfiltered student_id
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in OpenSIS Classic 8.0 allows remote attackers to extract database information through the student_id parameter. The /modules/eligibility/Student.php handler inserts the request parameter into a database query without applying sqlSecurityFilter(), allowing boolean-, time-, and UNION-based SQL payloads. The endpoint is reachable over the network without authentication; demonstrated impact is unauthorized database confidentiality access, with no integrity or availability impact reported.
