Arbitrary file read via unchecked download path
Published Aug 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Arbitrary file download in downloadFiles.php in Simple E-Learning System allows remote attackers to read server files. The handler assigns the download query parameter directly to a filesystem path and passes it to filesize() and readfile() without validation. No authentication check appears in the handler, so a network request can retrieve any file readable by the web-server process, including configuration data.
