CVE-2022-26964Network attack vector

Vault disclosure via Base64-decoded export passwords

Published Dec 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Weak password derivation in Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager 2021.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to disclose exported vault data. During vault export, the password-derivation path mistakenly Base64-decodes any password that is itself valid Base64, reducing its effective length. Exploitation requires access to a password-protected export and offline brute force against a Base64-valid password, exposing the encrypted vault contents.
