Phishing via unchecked returnUrl redirects
Published Oct 20, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025
Open redirect flaws in nopCommerce 4.10 through 4.50.1 allow remote attackers to send users to attacker-controlled sites via returnUrl. Several redirect paths pass the user-supplied returnUrl directly to RedirectResult, while NopRedirectResultExecutor URL-decodes it after local-URL validation and writes the result into the Location header. Exploitation requires a user to follow a crafted store URL and complete an affected flow, after which the browser reaches an attacker-controlled site.
