CVE-2022-26945Network attack vector

Download-control bypass via unrestricted response-header redirects

Published May 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in HashiCorp go-getter 1.5.11 and earlier, and 2.0.0 through 2.0.2, allows remote attackers to bypass download controls. HttpGetter trusts the X-Terraform-Get HTTP response header as a new source and follows it without a redirect limit, allowing protocol switching and endless redirection. An attacker must control an HTTP response consumed by an application using the library; consequences include access through enabled getters and a service hang.
