Format string injection in Motorola MTM5000 series firmware allows physically proximate attackers to execute arbitrary code via AT+CTGL. The AT command handler treats an attacker-controlled string as a format string, creating a write-anything-anywhere primitive inside the root-privileged teds_app binary. Access to the radio's serial modem-command interface is required; successful exploitation grants root-context ARM code execution and can enable extraction of radio key material.
