Spreadsheet formula execution via unsanitized exports
Published Jun 2, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Formula injection in Dell Technologies PowerStore before 2.1.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to place formulas in exported files. The CSV/XLSX export path copies stored field values into spreadsheet cells without validating or neutralizing formula-leading input. Exploitation requires high-privilege access and a user to open the generated file in a spreadsheet application, where the formula is interpreted.
