Input validation in Dell Client Platform BIOS before 1.5.0 allows local users to bypass SMM security controls through crafted SMI input. The firmware accepts malicious input delivered to a system management interrupt without adequately validating it before SMM processes the request. Exploitation requires local authentication and high privileges, and the bypass permits firmware-level data access and modification with limited service interruption.
