CVE-2022-26852Network attack vector

Account compromise via predictable PRNG seed

Published Apr 8, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Predictable randomness in Dell PowerScale OneFS 8.2.x through 9.3.x allows remote attackers to compromise an account via network requests. A pseudo-random number generator is initialized with a predictable seed, allowing its output to be anticipated, but Dell does not identify the affected component or generated secret. No authentication is required, but exploitation has high complexity and grants access only through the compromised account.
