Database read and modification via unsanitized report identifier
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
SQL injection in SourceCodester Interview Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or modify data through the id parameter. The viewReport.php endpoint inserts the id value into an SQL statement without neutralizing SQL syntax, allowing expressions such as UPDATEXML to execute. An administrative account is required, and successful exploitation is limited to data reachable through the application database permissions.
