CVE-2022-26780Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unbounded service-name parsing

Published May 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in InHand Networks InRouter302 3.5.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted configuration. The httpd user_define_init function parses the user_define_timeout NVRAM value with an unbounded %[^:] conversion into a 64-byte stack buffer. A user able to import a bulk router configuration can supply an oversized service name, overwrite the return address, and obtain code execution on the appliance.
