Sandbox escape via insufficient Tcl environment sanitization
Published May 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
A sandbox escape in Tcl in Apple macOS Catalina, Big Sur before 11.6.6, and Monterey before 12.4 allows local users to escape an app sandbox. The Tcl component insufficiently sanitizes the process environment before a sandboxed malicious application invokes it. Exploitation requires a malicious local application and user interaction; success permits actions outside the application's assigned sandbox.
