Local kernel code execution via AMD buffer overflow
Published May 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer overflow in the AMD component of Apple macOS Monterey before 12.4 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. The component copies data without adequately constraining it to the destination buffer; Apple has not disclosed the affected routine or input. Execution of an application by a local user is required, after which attacker-controlled code runs with kernel privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
