CVE-2022-26648

Device crash via malformed XNo parameter

Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

A buffer overflow in Siemens SCALANCE X-200 and X-200IRT firmware before 5.2.6 or 5.5.2 allows remote attackers to crash switches. The web server fails to validate the XNo GET parameter before a buffer copy, so a crafted HTTP request can overrun memory. Siemens describes an unauthenticated request, while its CVSS vector requires low privileges and adjacent-network access; the bounded reported consequence is a device crash.
