Session hijacking via predictable web tokens
Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Session management in Siemens SCALANCE X switches before 5.2.6 or 5.5.2 allows remote attackers to hijack active web sessions. Affected webservers generate session IDs and nonces with insufficient randomness, making valid identifiers susceptible to brute-force guessing. Exploitation requires network access to TCP ports 80 or 443 and an existing session; a hijacker obtains that session's authorized access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
