Authentication bypass via interpolated login username
Published May 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Simple Student Quarterly Result/Grade System 1.0 allows remote attackers to bypass administrator authentication. The login branch of sqgs/Actions.php inserts the submitted username directly into a SELECT statement without parameterization, allowing a tautology to satisfy the administrator lookup. An unauthenticated POST to the login action is sufficient to enter the administrative interface without a valid password.
